Genetec

Security Center with analytics integrations

Genetec supports analytics workflows through its platform and technology partners. Its lifecycle notice says KiwiVision is unavailable for new customers from May 2026 with Security Center 5.14.

Buyer check: For a new project, require a current supported partner or camera-analytics design. For existing KiwiVision installations, review the applicable support and migration notice.

Official product or support documentation

Test this platform in your environment

For a new installation, identify the supported analytics source rather than assuming a discontinued or limited-support option remains available.

Architecture: VMS + selected analytics. Confirm processing location, outage behavior, supported cameras and the licenses included in the proposal. Video-stream compatibility alone does not establish metadata or event compatibility.

Before selecting a configuration

Record missed events, nuisance alerts and operator review time during the pilot. Get written confirmation of account ownership, renewal costs, export options, replacement parts and alternative service providers. Use the purchasing workbook for the full acceptance checklist.

Compare documented feature coverage or explore industry applications.

Source-based reference; independent testing and universal availability are not claimed. Suggest a correction with current manufacturer documentation.

Security Center and video analytics workflows

Genetec Security Center can be part of a wider unified security environment, but the exact camera analytics and search capabilities depend on selected components and supported devices. Do not equate an integrated video and access-control dashboard with built-in AI functionality for every camera. Define the event workflow and its data origin before licensing.

Demonstration and handover questions

Ask for a working cross-system event example—such as a door-forced alarm with associated recorded video—using the actual product release. Verify role boundaries, retention, event timestamps, analytics licensing and the response when a connected device or server is offline.

Record these decisions

For this specific platform, keep the supported model and software versions, a written use case, sample results from the owner’s environment, data-flow diagram, retention policy, costs, maintenance owner and any unresolved limitations. This is a reference for evaluating claims—not a certification, endorsement or guarantee of the supplier’s product.
