Compare how selected camera manufacturers and software vendors implement AI—not just whether their brochure uses the term.
This directory covers vendors serving U.S. buyers, including international manufacturers. It is not a country-of-origin certification, a complete vendor registry or a ranking. Product availability, support, procurement eligibility and licensing must be verified for the exact model and project. Public documentation was reviewed in September 2026; no independent testing is claimed.
Four implementation patterns
| Pattern | Where the work occurs | What to price and verify |
|---|---|---|
| Camera AI | A processor in a supported camera generates detections or metadata. | Camera capability, application license, firmware and receiving-system integration. |
| Server or appliance AI | A local processor analyzes incoming video. | Stream capacity, GPU/CPU needs, redundancy, licenses and the effect on recording. |
| Cloud analytics | A vendor service analyzes or indexes supported video or metadata. | Upload requirements, subscription, retention, permissions and outage behavior. |
| Model and integration platform | Software deploys models or consumes events from other products. | The actual model/application, its supplier, support and how outputs become a usable workflow. |
Consistent platform comparison
Documented means the linked source describes that task in the named product or family; it does not mean every edition includes it. Verify configuration means this reference has not established the feature for the proposed configuration—not that it is unavailable. Model / integration dependent means a separately selected app, model or analytics source determines the capability.

For pricing, require an exact bill of materials: camera, firmware, software edition, compute device, retention and feature license. Confirm plate recognition, facial recognition, specialized safety analytics, metadata export and third-party camera support separately; these are not implied by the five task columns above.
Manufacturer and platform implementation directory
This directory now contains 22 manufacturer and platform profiles. Some manufacturers have separate platform entries; the count is not a count of unique companies. Feature summaries are vendor-documented, not independently benchmarked.
22 profiles shown
Axis Communications
AXIS Object Analytics
On-camera detection, classification, tracking and counting; configured scenarios such as line crossing and time in area.
Buyer check: Confirm the exact camera, application/firmware version, available scenarios and how the receiving VMS uses events and metadata. Beta features are not production commitments.
Hanwha Vision
AI cameras, AI Packs and cloud services
Camera-side analytics can be extended through product-specific applications; AI Packs and cloud services use different licensing paths.
Buyer check: Hanwha documents perpetual AI Pack licenses as camera-bound and non-transferable. Confirm supported camera and application versions; do not assume every WiseAI feature or proof of concept is included.
Avigilon / Motorola Solutions
Unity and AI appliances
Unity documentation describes Appearance Search and other AI-assisted investigation tools. Appliances can supply processing for specified functions.
Buyer check: Match the Unity edition, appliance, cameras and processing capacity. Do not treat the separate Alta cloud offering as identical to Unity. Obtain a feature-specific bill of materials.
i-PRO
Edge AI and Active Guard
AI cameras produce metadata that Active Guard can expose through supported VMS integrations. Cataloged functions include object detection and on-site learning on supported products.
Buyer check: Verify camera applications, server/plugin versions and each supported integration. On-site learning needs a representative evaluation; it does not eliminate errors.
Bosch video products / Keenfinity documentation
IVA Pro
Camera analytics packages support defined detection and forensic tasks. IVA Pro Appearance generates appearance attributes for search in systems such as BVMS.
Buyer check: Package, camera platform, firmware, licensing and scene requirements matter. The Appearance documentation includes lighting and visibility limitations.
VIVOTEK
Vision Object Analytics and Deep Search
Edge object extraction produces data for search in supported NVR, VAST Security Station and VORTEX workflows.
Buyer check: Verify which attributes reach the chosen platform and which cameras support them. Inferred appearance attributes are search aids, not verified facts about a person.
IDIS
IDIS Deep Learning Analytics
IDIS describes its analytics engine for object classification, intrusion and loitering tasks within its product ecosystem.
Buyer check: Identify the current camera, recorder, appliance or software module that performs the requested function. Marketing accuracy claims need a site-specific test.
Digital Watchdog
MEGApix Ai
The MEGApix Ai family documents an edge analytics approach with real-time object processing.
Buyer check: Use the family brochure as orientation, then obtain the current model datasheet, firmware, supported events and DW Spectrum integration details.
Verkada
Command AI-powered search
Natural-language search in Command helps locate people and vehicles using descriptive queries.
Buyer check: Confirm supported devices, retention, licensing and feature availability. A search match requires review; camera portability is a separate question from Command capabilities.
Eagle Eye Networks
Smart Video Search
Cloud VMS search tools help locate objects of interest within supported video workflows.
Buyer check: Check the cameras, metadata, bridge/CMVR requirements, upload assumptions, service tier and retention. Verify which results are available during connectivity interruptions.
Ubiquiti
UniFi Protect AI Key and AI Port
Dedicated AI devices can add processing to supported Protect workflows. AI Key adds a computer-vision layer to incoming smart detections; AI Port has a different role.
Buyer check: Do not assume the two appliances are interchangeable. Verify camera compatibility, resolution/channel limits and which functions need each device.
Network Optix
Nx AI Manager
Nx AI Manager supports deploying and managing models and assigning them to camera streams in the documented Nx environment.
Buyer check: A model-deployment platform is not proof that a particular detection application is included. Specify the model, hardware, software version and support responsibility.
Milestone / BriefCam
XProtect integrations and BriefCam analytics
BriefCam supplies video-content analytics and can integrate with VMS interfaces, including XProtect and Genetec Security Center.
Buyer check: Identify the current BriefCam package and integration, processing resources and licenses. Do not assume old Rapid REVIEW brochures describe a currently orderable bundle.
Genetec
Security Center with analytics integrations
Genetec supports analytics workflows through its platform and technology partners. Its lifecycle notice says KiwiVision is unavailable for new customers from May 2026 with Security Center 5.14.
Buyer check: For a new project, require a current supported partner or camera-analytics design. For existing KiwiVision installations, review the applicable support and migration notice.
Avigilon Alta

Features that should be compared separately
Ask the bidder to mark each required feature as included, separately licensed, unsupported or unverified: person/vehicle classification; line crossing; intrusion; dwell; counting; attribute search; natural-language search; plate recognition; camera-health alerts; metadata export; and connection to the monitoring or incident process. These are different tasks, not one interchangeable “AI” feature.
For each included feature, write down the camera, software edition, firmware, processing location, license, data retained and acceptance test. A platform may accept video from a third-party camera without preserving that camera’s analytics metadata or allowing its settings to be managed.
Proprietary does not mean useless; open does not mean free
A tightly integrated system may simplify configuration, updates and support. Its tradeoff can be a narrower hardware choice or a more expensive exit. A multi-vendor design may preserve more equipment choices but require extra integration work, licenses and divided support responsibilities. Compare the complete operating and migration plan.
Separate incoming compatibility from outgoing portability. A system accepting third-party cameras does not prove its native cameras can move to a different VMS. Software licenses, analytic models, historical indexes and trained configurations may not transfer even if video hardware can be reused. Require written evidence for each layer.
A five-question shortlist
- Which exact operational problem does the feature solve?
- Where does inference and search indexing run, and what happens when that component is unavailable?
- What devices, editions, integrations and recurring fees are required?
- What representative test will demonstrate both useful results and errors?
- What can the owner retain, export or move if the provider or platform changes?
Continue with architecture and reuse, the pilot and purchasing workbook and privacy and responsible use. A defensible shortlist is based on required tasks and evidence, not the number of advertised AI features.
